Interested in joining School Council? The School Council is made up of parents, guardians, teachers and principals and our primary function is to act as an advisory body to the principal and the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board. We discuss various school issues and work collaboratively with staff to establish the best learning environment for our students. It is a great way to get involved in your child’s education.
If you would like to join, please fill out a nomination form and return to the office no later than Tuesday, September 24, 2019. Your attendance at the first meeting is necessary to confirm your interest and to find out about further responsibilities as a member. If there is a need to hold an election it will be determined at the first meeting.
The first meeting of the year will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 6:30 pm in the library.
In November 2017, School Council surveyed parents interest in attending an parent information night on Wednesday February 28, 2018 6:30 pm-8:00 pm. Since this type of event involves a substantial commitment from our School Council and staff we have decided to cancel the event as the total number of parents who said they would be able to attend was very low. At our February Parent Council meeting we will discuss other options for using the Ministry of Education Parents Reaching Out (PRO) Grant funds.
